Animal Place operates two shelters: a sanctuary, education center and
veganic/organic garden in Grass Valley, CA and its rescue and adoption center is
in Vacaville, CA.
The Grass Valley sanctuary is open for guided and
self-guided tours year round. More than 200 cows, pigs, goats, sheep, chickens,
turkeys and rabbits live there. It also has an active volunteer and residential
internship program.
The Vacaville sanctuary operates Animal Place's Rescue
Ranch program. This unique, one-of-a-kind program, negotiates the release of
spent hens from farmers and then places them for adoption. In the first year of
Rescue Ranch operation, more than 2,200 lives have been saved.
