Mercury Free Dentist, Mercury Safe Dental Office is
there a difference?
What is Mercury Free Dentist? A dentist who do
not place mercury amalgam (silver) fillings. Dr. Anthony Adams has
not placed a silver filling for over 20 years.
After
intensive research Dr. Adams is taking his office to the next level and
offering a mercury safe dental practice. What does that
mean? That means we do not place mercury fillings. To be a
mercury safe dental office we must protect the patient, ourselves and
the environment from unnecessary mercury exposure during removal.
Mercury is a very powerful neurotoxin. Now that we know how
dangerous mercury is our office embrace changes that will minimize mercury
exposure. We use a mercury separator which extracts the mercury
particulate and contains it safety before it goes to the sewer. Mercury
that is discarded into the sewage is either incinerated or made into
fertilizer. Incineration contaminates our atmosphere.
Fertilizer with mercury contaminates our precious earth.
We are
installing negative ion dispensers and traps which help to clean our office
atmosphere. We use disposable covers for ourselves and patients in order to
create a barrier from the mercury. We use multiple air evacuation
systems to capture and contain the mercury vapor before it can harm the patient
or ourselves. When we remove mercury fillings, it is done in a way to minimize
mercury vapor exposure. Are these measures really necessary? If I did not think
so I would not go to the trouble or expense. I only wish I knew this 30 years
ago. I did not. I choose to act on what I now know. We should do
what is best for all of us. This is the only planet we our children or chilren's
children have.
