EarthWorks Community Farm, a program of the San Gabriel Valley Conservation
Corps (SGVCC), provides training in job & life skills, nutrition &
organic farming, and offers leadership development for SGVCC youth participants.
At our 4-acre organic urban farm, located in the Whittier Narrows Recreation
Area in South El Monte, California, participants learn how to grow high quality,
fresh organic vegetables, fruit, herbs and flowers, and provide excellent
customer service at our weekly produce stand. The ultimate goal is to transform
our youth into leaders and productive community members. We increase the health
of the community through the sales and donations of our organic produce and
through nutrition education outreach. As a community urban farm and orchard, we
bring the community together to support health and well-being of people and the
planet. We offer a weekly farm stand at the farm on Saturdays from 10am to 1pm,
as well as a CSA, restaurant sales, and plans to attend local farmer's
markets.
