A vegan community in existence since 1970, and a non-profit educational
organization since 1979. Our outreach is geared toward educating the public as
to the benefits of a plant-based diet and lifestyle. We believe that the
transition from an animal-based diet to a herbivorous one is humanity’s next
evolutionary step and the greatest hope for peace on earth. Our "in-reach"
mission is to work together to realize our shared vision of a life that supports
our highest ideals, such as compassion, integrity and honesty. We are nature and
sun lovers. Our year-round headquarters is on The Big Island of Hawaii. We also
own 450 acres of magnificent New Zealand countryside, which we call Shangri-La.
The land is in a private valley, with two pristine rivers. Here we accept
wwoofers, each summer season (from November-May) to help, which includes the
planting of fruit trees, flowers and veganic vegetable gardens. We welcome all
letters from love-minded people who are willing to contribute to the realization
of our vision.
