I am a birth doula, certified through DONA for 8 years, and I live in
Pittsfield, MA, which is in the Berkshire regoin of western Massachusetts. I
have three daughters (15, 13 and 11), all born in the hospital with a midwife in
attendance. I attend births, mostly at Berkshire Medical Center, Fairview
Hospital and North Adams Regional Hospital. I would love to attend a home
birth, but have not had the chance yet. I believe that birth is a natural
experience, and should be viewed as such. I believe that the day she gives
birth is a very important day in a woman's life, one that she will remember
always, and that she should be nurtured and cared for through this experience,
so that she will be able to feel her confidence and power as a new mother!
