Living Free is located on 153 acres in the beautiful Southern California
mountains near Idyllwild. Our shelter rescues are spayed/neutered, have their
shots and are healthy before being offered to the public for adoption. The dogs
live in spacious yards during the day and in warm, comfortable indoor/outdoor
kennels at night. Our cats enjoy large, sunny rooms with access to screened
outdoor areas. Rescues are made as financial resources and space allow. We are
unable to respond to individual shelter rescue requests or to receive animals
from the public. Living Free provides sanctuary for our rescues until they are
adopted or for their lifetime if that is the case. We rely completely on
donations from the public and welcome visitors Fri-Sun from 11-3 and Mon from
11-2. We encourage you to sit in a rocking chair with an appreciative cat on
your lap or walk a dog on one of our scenic trails. Picnic facilities are
available.
