Turning vacant lots into beneficial green zones. LBO currently has four
operating sites, maintained by local residents throughout the City of Long
Beach. These organic gardens produce some of the highest quality fruits and
vegetables available locally for human consumption. In addition, LBO gives
families interested in gardening an opportunity to work together, easing
intergenerational tensions and building stronger family ties.
