The New Jersey (State) Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (NJSPCA)
was created in 1868 as the second oldest SPCA in the USA. Its agents were
established as Law Enforcement Officers in charge of investigating and
prosecuting those involved in animal abuse and neglect. Our mission today is the
same. Through our NJ State SPCA Humane Police division and the tireless efforts
of our highly trained and professional law enforcement personnel, we are making
a difference...one animal at a time. We are committed to educating the public on
responsible pet ownership. The NJSPCA (and its Humane Police division) is funded
solely by donations, grants, bequests and court fines levied against animal
cruelty offenders who violate NJSA Title 4 animal cruelty statutes. We receive
no government funding and we do not benefit from citizen tax dollars. Please
help us in our quest to end the needless suffering of animals in our state by
donating today. Please visit our web site at www.njspca.org. Thank You.
