Providing care and a home for life to over 400 rescued animals, both domestic
and ex-farm.
Run single handed by Fiona Oakes, there are 35 Horses, 36 Dogs
(all live in the house) 45 Cats, 53 Pigs, 30 Sheep, 18 Goats, 4 Cows & numerous
smaller animals and birds.
Fiona was made a patron of the charity CAPS in
2007 along with Jay Kay.
It costs >�5200 a month to feed the rescues & just
over half this is met through the donations of the 200 supporters of the
sanctuary. The Sanctuary is desperate for further support and as it is not run
as a business EVERY penny donated goes towards the feed costs - nothing is
deducted to cover admin, salaries, rent or other expense.
Fiona, awarded the
Vegan Achievement Award in '04 is also an Elite Marathon runner, coming top 10
in several international marathons (Florence, Amsterdam) and 20th in London
