  Labor Support... I accompany women in labor to help ensure a safe and satisfying birth experience. I can provide reassurance and perspective to you and your partner, make suggestions for labor progress, and help with relaxation using massage, positioning, and other techniques for comfort. I am independent and self-employed. I work for you, not your caregiver or hospital. I compliment rather than displace the partner by providing support and encouragement for both mother and partner. Preparation... The initial meeting with you and your partner will be used to become acquainted, to discuss your priorities as well as any concerns, to review the services I offer and to explore how we might best work together. If you decide to use my services, we will have two more prenatal meetings in order that I may become familiar with or help you formulate your preferences regarding pain management and medication options. I will meet with you at your home on the second prenatal meeting, so I will be familiar with the location of your home, should you want me to come there when you are in labor or if you are having a home birth. Resources... I have relaxation CD’s, childbirth DVD’s, and a small collection of childbirth books that I will lend to you.
