  Yoga retreat exist for the primary purpose of practicing and teaching yoga in all of its physical, mental and spiritual applications. Our foundation is the teachings of Paramahansa Yogananda, who brought the the West definite scientific methods for attaining direct personal experience of God, an experience he called Self-Realization. The Ranch was founded in 1970 by J. Oliver Black, a highly advanced disciple of Yogananda. The Ranch is the result of Mr. Black's desire to carry out the wishes of his Guru and establish a Yoga Retreat of the purpose of expanding the timeless science of Yoga as a full and practical way of life.
