  Whimsy Woods offers handcrafted children's furniture and toys, custom hand painted to order in our own Ozark Mt.  workshop.  Choose from 50 unique designs, pick your own favorite colors or theme - every piece starts with bare wood so customization is easy.  Make it personal by adding your child's name on the front or a brief inscription on the back.  Our child-friendly furniture goes well  beyond minimum standards for safety with smart, thoughtful features that parents will appreciate.   We make it easy to get exactly the look you want without having to compromise either your style or your principles.

  We have always tried to be good citizens of the planet as well as a good company for our customers. We concentrate on American made products - from wood to paint to packing materials - because we believe they are safer, cleaner, healthier - simply better.  And what's healthier for our planet is also better for the families that will live with our products, and better for us working with these materials every day as well.

  We start with solid, unfinished wood - no manufactured wood products or engineered wood 'by products' that may have stinky glue or resins, chemical treatments or plastic coatings. We use only non-toxic, low VOC, water based, American brand name paints and finishes.  Our hand painted furniture is topped with a durable, water-based clear finish - all done by hand in our own family workshop.  Our hardwood products come from plantation grown trees, the pine from sustainably harvested plantings. 

  We use all the clean, post-consumer (recycled) packing materials we can get our hands on.  At present that's about 70% of our boxes and almost 95% of the paper or foam we pack inside. And we're always looking for ways we can do better - suggestions welcome.

  We sign and date every hand painted piece of furniture we sell, because we believe they have enduring value.

  We aren't exactly new at this.  Whimsy Woods has been in business for nearly 15 years, but as life-long organic gardeners we began using earth-friendly practices long before anyone called them green.
