We believe that if people know about the ways that the human race harms the
animals that share this planet with us, they'll stop eating meat, wearing fur
and leather, using products tested on animals, and patronizing animal
entertainment venues. We have faith that the human race can step out of the food
chain and live with the same compassion we profess to extend to our fellow
humans.
Further, we believe that showing compassion for animals is an
important step toward our evolution as a species that is loving toward its own
kind. Studies have repeatedly shown that people who purposely harm animals are
more likely to purposely harm other humans. We believe the reverse is true, too
-- people who wouldn't harm an animal are less likely to harm another person.
