Beautiful art is easy to find, but artwork that tells a story and intrigues the
buyer can only be found at Glass with a Past. Our goal is to connect with each
collector in a rare way by providing unique story cards for EACH piece.
Each
card not only shows the amount of glass saved from landfills, but its past life,
allowing the customer to feel the history. For instance, if that new vase had a
reincarnated personality from its former life, what would it be?
Maybe it
would wear red stilettos and speak with a sultry accent, or perhaps it would be
ruddy and rough and have survived the Great Depression.
Each piece is
handmade in a small studio with locally collected post-consumer glass. We
primarily use discarded window glass, but bottles and other glass objects also
find their way to our shop.
Our kilns electric power usage is offset by a
100% purchase of wind power through the Blue Sky program offered by Utah Power.
We are a certified Salt Lake City e2 Business.
