Our Mission:
Mothering Roots ensures that a woman will have a doula to provide
continuity of care and support throughout her pregnancy, birth, and into
motherhood. The doulas who comprise Mothering Roots possess a richly diverse
background, yet share a common vision to connect, empower and advocate for
birthing women of all ages, backgrounds and cultures – regardless of one’s
financial status. The Mothering Roots doulas are dedicated to providing
non-judgmental, patient, supportive, and qualified care to women and their
partners in hospitals, home, or birth centers with the birth methods of their
choice. Mothering Roots doulas do not take the place of the partner/support
person(s), but instead serve and support the mother and her partner/support
person(s), enriching the birthing experience for all. Our goal is that a woman
feels validated, honored and empowered no matter what may happen in the birth
experience.
